Amphibious vehicles

Dutton Kama Sp-2

The Dutton Kama Sp-2 amphibious vehicle is a normal utility off-road vehicle approved for road use, which in addition floats and is also registered as a watercraft. Its features include a stainless-steel construction and economical operation. Fuel consumption in a mixed cycle route city does not exceed 8 l/100km, on the water – 12 l/h.
The vehicle can be configured as a two- or four-seater, convertible or pickup. The vehicle has three compartments: driver, passengers and luggage, which can be combined, separated, covered with soft and rigid roofs.

Vehicle hull

The vehicle’s hull construction uses modern composite materials – laminates of resins, glass fabrics, carbon fabrics, sandwich materials and KAMA’s technology used in the construction of hydroplanes and large metering reducers. Such a hull provides unmatched serial car strength, lightweight construction, which is of great importance for an amphibious vehicle. The only metal elements of the hull are the suspension belt attachment nodes, the crossbar, which are made of acid-resistant steel. The displacement hull has built-in compartments and displacement chambers.
The hull can be equipped with a pneumatic emergency system to increase hull displacement.

Multi-purpose

The Dutton Kama Sp-2 vehicle is a multi-purpose vehicle, it can act as a recreational vehicle, an inspection vehicle (storm overflows, inspection of dikes, locks, weirs, other drainage facilities and structures); it can also successfully act as a rescue vehicle.
As a vehicle it travels at speeds of up to 140km/h, entering the water requires no preparation. The doors can be opened while cruising.
Equipping the vehicle with an interchangeable coolant and oil cooling system allows it to cruise very long distances.
In addition, lockable inspection openings are provided in the floor of the vehicle to inspect the underfloor space.

Dutton Kama Sp-2 is equipped with the following systems

01
Air conditioning
02
Heating
03
Passenger cabin ventilation
04
Ventilation and dehumidification of the internal sub-floor space of the hull

Jet propeller

Propulsion on the water is provided by a jet propeller. The use of an innovative control system ensures that the vehicle is extremely manoeuvrable. The jet propeller is driven by the vehicle’s propulsion engine. Our propeller operates completely quietly at slow engine speeds, providing a towing capacity of 40–150 kg and a speed of 3–4 km/h. Maximum speed on the water with the propeller is 8–10 km/h. Dutton Kama Sp-2 can also be powered by a stern-mounted outboard engine. The outboard engine can be either an internal combustion engine or an electric motor.
This allows the vehicle to be used in waters where internal combustion-powered units are not allowed.

Propulsion in the vehicle

The vehicle’s source of propulsion on land and water is a 1.3 l four-cylinder 85 HP petrol engine. The vehicle’s mechanical system is based on modified Suzuki Jimmy and Samurai components – drive axles, reducer, engine, gearbox. Dutton Kama Sp-2 has very good off-road capabilities. The gearbox allows off-road and on-road ratios, and can be driven either on the rear axle only or both axles. In addition, the drive axles can be fitted with pneumatically controlled locks. The source of pressure is a compressor permanently built into the vehicle’s hull, which is used to pressurise the axles and reducer during cruising, overcoming water obstacles and driving through watery terrain.
The hull can be equipped with a pneumatic emergency system to increase hull displacement.
